The mission of the Voyager Parent Teacher Association is to enrich student learning, support families, and build community. Due to recent budget cuts it has become evermore necessary for our community to help support our students. Today's elementary school aged children are growing up in a different environment than their parents - and most adults - grew up in. It is becoming more and more necessary for junior high and high school students to both have access to, and know how to use a computer. Because of this the use of them in elementary school is both beneficial and necessary.

By the time students currently enrolled in elementary school grades are in junior high, it will be required that they be able to use computer and be able to use the Internet to do research for school papers. If they are not taught these skills in elementary school, they will be behind from the start - needing to both learn to use the computers and the Internet, AND do their required school work. This will be a hard disadvantage for them to overcome. Not so long ago junior high grade levels used to be soon enough to introduce children to computers, that is no longer the case.

Voyager Elementary school is fortunate to have a computer lab in existence, however our equipment is very old and the systems are in need of being replaced. Every year for the past few years it has been the number one request from almost all of teachers in our school. The only chance of this equipment being replaced will be at the hands of our community. Our goal is to raise $40,000 for new computers and technology for our voyager computer lab. Join us for our Viva La Voyager Auction, for a fabulous night of entertainment and help us reach our goal.
